Rhein in die Zukunft
Problemstellung - Die Aufgabe

Nomadic Living & Public Space for Free Expression
This project investigates bottom-up ‘emergent behavior within the city of the future. It continues the investigations by Constants and other Situationists into cities of creativity and lived experience, by rejecting the old conception of master plans. These hierarchical systems have the designer impose what they see as “good” or “desirable” and in the process control people through abstracted, representational space. As Henri Lefebvre notes, “The user’s space is lived- not represented (or conceived). When compared with the abstract space of the experts (architects, urbanists, planners) the space of the everyday activities of users is a concrete one, which is to say subjective.” The city of the future will be made of un-planned plans. That is to say, they will be designed from a bottom-up system by the people who live and use the space of the city and the rules they create. The initial structure will be set up through the simulation of natural patterns of development. After the initial setup the inhabitants will take over creating a space for their own needs. These spaces might be similar to Ungdomshuset and Chritiania where users determine the fate of the space they live. Spaces might emerge that are irregular, compact, and dense. However, these spaces are still usable and potentially desirable as seen in the complex European cities we love and admire and the communities that exist there.

Sustainable Drive
The future of cities begins within an existing building, a new interior has attacked, spread and leaked out of a derelict 1960’s car park in Gateshead and can now trickle through the town centre, reinventing areas on its path.

W.E.S.T West End Sustainable Transition
The vision of future cities is one of self-sufficiency and social stability.
Environmental and experiential changes take time to adopt and adjust to, thus, the future city of 2030 will be part of the transformation phase where we focus on the restoration of our planet and implementation of strong social values into our communities to sustain and accommodate demographic and climate changes, particularly focusing on environmental refugees, that will be inevitable to our current situation.
Sustainable design needs to infiltrate all scale of production and consumption from macro-scale of global distribution networks to the macro-scale of site strategies, individual building systems, and social interaction.
This project plans to recycle existing character housing to create affordable mixed-use communities with maximum environmental efficiency by adopting transitional design principles, performing as emergency shelter and achieving co-housing philosophies.
The envisioned city will be formed by communities like the proposed that feature water-recycling systems, photovoltaic panels and wind turbines for energy harvesting, rainwater collection and storage system, vegetated green roofs and facades in addition to traditional passive design strategies. With strong focus on communal life, social interaction, emergency flooding plan, and education, the result is a scheme for sustainable human environment.

CT-Cubes: Sustainable Cities
The future city must be redefined. A diagnostic CT should be made starting from today!
We know that half of the world’s population now inhabits cities and we anticipate that in the future 100% will migrate to the city. So imagine the city can co-exist with nature, with historic sites, with drastic changes of climate…
The future city is a global effort! It will relate to any country, continent and tradition. So we made a city sample that is located on a special site with water, flat land and mountain topography in order to show our solution is a plug and play system that can be used anywhere - in the favelas of Brazil, in the growing cities of China or in the heart of ancient Rome. In each place our simple structure can implement the local context in the shape, color, light and even furniture. And even in each CT-Cube there is plenty of room for personal interpretation.

Istanbul is the only metropolis in Turkey and the most attractive city according to the migration, it is getting bigger day by day with its land, economy, social life and population.
